The various visible programs and directories in Start Menu Programs, in Start Menu Proper, and on the desktop may be hidden by selecting them in the appropriate Visible listbox and then pressing the Hide command button, or simply by double-clicking them. Those in the Hidden listbox may be shown by selecting them and pressing the Show button, or by double-clicking them.
In the above picture, the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop is about to be moved to the Hidden listbox, and therefore about to be removed from the desktop. (Please see the Next picture for the result.)
