The following review of StormWindow V.4.0 (the first Windows 95 release) was published by ZD-Net:
"If you share a computer running Windows 95 and need to restrict access to certain Win95 features, take a look at StormWindow. This 32-bit security utility uses an attractive tabbed-dialog interface to let an authorized user add several types of protection to the Windows 95 desktop and system files. For instance, you can keep a user from accessing the Run command, saving settings, using the Registry Editor, connecting to Dial-In Networking, or displaying the Control Panel. StormWindow's protective capabilities would be especially useful to someone responsible for a number of computers at a school or business, a network manager, or a parent."
The following review of StormWindow V.5.0 (the first Windows 98 release) was published by ZD-Net:
"StormWindow for Windows 98 provides an easy means of protecting your computer settings from other users. It enables you to selectively block access to Control Panel applets, network settings, Start Menu items, password access, and more. You can use it to hide selected drives, hide selected Desktop icons and folders, disable Regedit, disable Ctrl-Alt-Del, and disable your boot keys (F5 and F8). You can even disable access to all programs on your PC except for those on a list that you establish. Most security settings are user-specific. This password-protected program features a tabbed interface that makes it easy to change all these settings and more."
